This ancient town, whose origin dates back to 1303, during the reign of Ferdinand IV, is a living source of history. The family of Don Alonso Perez de Guzman, founder of the Casa de Medina-Sidonia, governed the town that was profit for centuries by the American-African trade of the nearby cosmopolitan city of Cadiz.
